A Prayer For Our Church
The Evil which has infested America was able to do so because America's church allowed it. They have focused on baptizing and ignored discipling.
‘Matthew 28:19–20 contains what has come to be called the Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus gave this command to the apostles shortly before He ascended into heaven, and it essentially outlines what Jesus expected the apostles and those who followed them to do in His absence.
It is interesting that, in the original Greek, the only direct command in Matthew 28:19–20 is “make disciples.”
The Great Commission instructs us to make disciples while we are going throughout the world.
The instructions to “go,” “baptize,” and “teach” are indirect commands—participles in the original.
How are we to make disciples? By baptizing them and teaching them all that Jesus commanded. “Make disciples” is the primary command of the Great Commission. “Going,” “baptizing,” and “teaching” are the means by which we fulfill the command to “make disciples.”’ 1
Bishop Joseph Mattera, on August 7, 2011 to 150 political, business, and military leaders in the African nation of Rwanda, including the Speaker of Parliament.
‘Today I would like to speak to you about: “How to Frame a Nation with the Law of God.”
Regarding the separation of our faith from public policy, or the privatization of faith: This concept was foreign to the Founding Fathers of the United States where I come from and also to Scripture.
The original covenant of God to humankind was the Cultural Commission found in Genesis 1:28 in which God’s people were called to be servant leaders that would influence every square inch of the created order, including policy, economics and politics.
Jesus reaffirmed this cultural covenant in Matthew 28:18-20 when He told the church to disciple and baptize whole nations, teaching them to observe everything He taught them in private. This means Jesus viewed the Bible as a blueprint for nation building, not just a book to get individuals to heaven!
Furthermore, Jesus came to the earth to be King of kings. This is seen in His conversation with Pilate in John 18:37 and in His biblical titles and functions as found in Psalm 2:8-11, Rev. 1:5, 19:16. This has vast political implications because it means Jesus is not only the spiritual savior of the world but the political leader of the world as the President of presidents, Governor of governors and King of kings!
Furthermore, His followers have a duty of representing their King and kingdom on the earth to the political and economic powers that be!
He also called His followers a political term, “the ekklesia,” which was used during the 200 years before Christ coined it in Matthew 16:18. The term was used when Greek citizens came together to enact public policy.
We believe in the separation of church and state but not the separation of God and state!”
The remaining footnotes finish driving nails in the coffin of churches which cower within their 4 walls and pretend to believe their job is done when an unbeliever is baptized.
The Prayer
Father, thank you for Your Son, Jesus Christ, for The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20, for Your Unending Grace and Your Omnipotent Power that protects, strengthens and inspires America and Americans.
Thank you for all the great evangelists who refused to be shackled by the State. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Thank You for Americans, who love Jesus and love America.
Thank You for America, our beautiful homeland with its proud heritage of evangelism - not only proclaiming the Gospel across the world but living it on the beaches of Normandy and in the mud of Chosin and in the jungles of Vietnam and in the sand of Falluja - "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" - John 15:13
Thank You for pastors who lead their churches to serve their cities, counties, states and Our Nation. Help them to understand that serving meals to needy is a good thing, but that it doesn’t change anything. Help them to understand why Jesus used the word ekklesia, when He said “…I will build My ekklesia and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” - Matthew 16:18. Help them to understand that every church must be an ekklesia - a place where civic affairs are discussed and decisions are made which are then implemented at the ballot box.
Protect, strengthen and inspire them that Your Will Be Done On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.
Thank You for Americans who stand up and step up to serve our cities, counties, states and Our Nation. Protect, strengthen and inspire them that Your Will Be Done On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.
Thank You for Americans who put their lives on the line, every day, as they serve in our military, law enforcement and first responders. Protect, strengthen and inspire them that Your Will Be Done On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.
Thank You for Americans who work long days to care for their families and still find time for service organizations that love and care for the children, sick, elderly and forgotten. Protect, strengthen and inspire them that Your Will Be Done On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.
Thank You for leading America back to the path You intended for Her, the path that leads to the Shining City on the Hill from which the beacon of Your Light and Love will shine out, driving darkness from all the world.
Through Your Unending Grace and Your Omnipotent Power, America IS being saved.
