"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."
As we read of Jesus arrival in Jerusalem and the events leading to His death and resurrection, as a believer, reflecting on that and on recent events brings a feeling of deja vu.
The title recalls Jesus statement, on the Cross. That statement reflects Jesus knowledge that the crucifixion, intended to eliminate someone troublesome to the people in power, the Sanhedrin, would in fact result in the destruction of their entire power structure and their nation.
We are living in a similar series of events - the illegal, immoral and demon inspired attacks on President Trump and their accelerating result, the destruction of the Democrat Party.
I pray, daily, for deliverance of the goats, people who will find themselves at Jesus left hand on that day. I believe that some of them can be saved, can find their way to Jesus and through Him to the Father. I know, from the scriptures, that many cannot.1
Americans, people who love Jesus and love America, must pray daily for our Nation!
But we must also live out Matthew 20:18-20, with an understanding of James 2:20.
The Great Commission is a command followed by some instructions. The command is “Go and make disciples”; the instructions are to begin with baptizing and continue with teaching “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you“.
It does not say “baptize people and then sit on your pews feeling smug”. James 2:14-262 clearly lays out the fallacy of that, but James 2:20 is the key verse “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
We are less than a year from the 2026 Midterms.
The results of the elections in Virginia, New Jersey and New York City showed that when Americans sit home, the Marxists win.
If that continues in November 2026, the deep, profound evil that is the Democrat party will go from the bad joke, on its way to the dumpster of history, that it is now, to being the future of America.
Zohran Mamdani has made very clear what that “America” will look like.
If Americans, people who love Jesus and love America, fail to get off their pews and out into their towns and counties and states and Nation, if they fail to talk to their family, friends, neighbors and pastors about the people and the issues and about the last chance nature of the November 2026 election, the results will look like Virginia and New Jersey and New York City did in 2025.
I don’t know about you, but I will not let that be my legacy to my children, grandchildren, …
Ephesians 4:18 - “They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart”
Hebrews 3:8-13: “Do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion... Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have a hard, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God”.
James 2:14-26
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
